Your Role
The primary role of the position is to manage the GENESYS Business Unit which is a team comprised of both Australian Public Service (APS) and Contractors but also working closely with uniformed members of the Defence Force. This includes the responsibility for recruitment, management of contracts and tasking of the contractor workforce.
The other key responsibility of the position is to liaise with Defence stakeholders including provision of advice on the capability and capacity of the GENESYS Unit and systems to support current and future user requirements. Additional responsibilities include: meeting all governance requirements in accordance with Defence protocols; the coordination of the GENESYS Executive Board which provides governance oversight to the joint work requirements; and responsibility for training across the Defence Force on the various information management systems.
Our Team
The GENESYS Business Unit is an Army organisation that sits within Army Headquarter, specifically DGLAND Branch. It is a mixed team comprising both APS and Contractors and fulfills all aspects of information system design, build, training, assistance and maintenance of its various systems. Whilst a predominantly civilian organisation, the team works closely with uniformed personnel from across the Defence Force.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would have previous management / leadership experience with additional experience in project management or business analysis roles. A background in ICT is desirable to enable greater capacity to liaise appropriately with regards to capacity and capability to meet new user requests. Experience in managing governance responsibilities is an advantage with Defence systems requiring to be aligned with future information system plans.
