  • Salary package including superannuation $69,600 to $76,800 pro-rata

(Full time equivalent is $116,000 - $128,000)

The organisation

Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak body for councils and related organisations in our State. LGNSW advocates on behalf of members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We provide a comprehensive range of services including industrial relations representation, management services and training.

The position

The primary purpose of the role is to administer the Increasing Resilience to Climate Change grants program and support councils with managing the impacts of climate change.

The person

You will have strong experience and capabilities in project management and grant administration, and be able to work collaboratively with the Office of Environment and Heritage, councils and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will have strong communication, analysis and reporting skills, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will have an understanding of local government and actively maintain knowledge of climate change adaptation policies and approaches.

The essential requirements

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience, including project development and design, implementation, reporting and evaluation to deliver project deadlines, within budget and to an agreed standard.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and government policies in relation to climate change and managing risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in and/or understanding of local government.
  • Excellent skills and experience in consultation, facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others across the organisation, and at all levels
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
