About the Engineering Services Department
This department is part of our City Services Division, and is responsible for the effective and sustainable management of Council’s infrastructural  assets, including the planning, design, and delivery of a number of asset-related services.

About the Role
This provides specialist advice and support to the department’s leadership team and plays a key role in the development and delivery of priority projects, business improvement initiatives and quality assurance.

This is a temporary full-time position for 12 months.

Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include

  1. Leading the development of a customer experience strategy for the department with assistance from the department’s leadership team. 
  2. Leading customer experience cultural change initiatives for the department working closely with the leadership team, customer experience department and other internal stakeholders.
  3. Developing and implementing communication and administrative systems to support collaboration and communication across the department.
  4. Supporting the leadership group to identify skills gaps and develop a training matrix in consultation with People and Culture.
  5. Providing specialist advice and support to the leadership team.
  6. Providing quality assurance for the content and accuracy of written communications and materials such as briefings, correspondence papers, reports and publications provided to and from the Manager.
  7. Assisting the leadership team to oversee and meet City of Greater Geelong’s planning requirements, including monitoring the development of divisional plans and projects.
  8. Managing reporting against annual work plan actions to relevant internal and external bodies.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in a business, project management and engagement or related discipline or lesser qualification with extensive experience.
  • Significant demonstrated ability to improve business processes which deliver better customer outcomes and experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, facilitate and coordinate groups, with interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and assistance from others.
  • Demonstrated highly developed problem solving skills.
  • Ability to plan and drive work through to completion within tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated project management experience from planning to implementation and evaluation.
