About the Role
In this role you will be working in the Health and Local Laws team to provide a high level of administrative support to the Community Laws & Compliance, Animal Compliance, Parking Compliance and School Crossing Programs with a strong emphasis on customer service. You will also proactively provide leadership and manage staff reporting to this position, and perform a broad range of research, reporting, and administrative duties.

This is a temporary part-time position working 22.8 hours per fortnight.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising, supporting and providing leadership and guidance to staff and identifying development opportunities and learning needs.
  • Developing, implementing and regularly monitoring performance objectives, skill acquisitions and personal development plans of the team.
  • Building administration staff into a focused team that responds to changing work practice demands.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the development and maintenance of database and reporting systems to facilitate the business planning and reporting process.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external to the organisation.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree or diploma in an administration or business discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience, with the proven ability to foster teamwork and supervise a specialised team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach, mentor and motivate teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated high customer service ethos with a proven ability to liaise with the general public in relation to complaints and enquiries.
  • Demonstrated high level of dispute resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to monitor a budget.
  • Ability to problem solve and identify solutions to issues.
