Strategic Planner to Senior Strategic Planner (x2)

Two full time positions are located within the City Planning branch. The branch has the exciting and challenging responsibility to deliver high quality strategic land use planning for a City within a World Heritage Area.

Specific action areas for the position include the development and review of land use planning strategies, studies, plans, and policies for the Blue Mountains Local Government Area in line with Council’s corporate goals and priorities, the preparation of urban design masterplans for key locations and town centres, and the monitoring and updating of Council’s local planning framework. This will also include working with, influencing and guiding groups within Council and external agencies to achieve Council's strategic planning objectives.

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in town planning or related discipline and have a demonstrated high level ability in statutory land use policy and processes and/or strategic planning. The ability to demonstrate great customer service and community engagement, as well as a passion for excellent planning outcomes, is also essential.

Full-time (5 days per week, 8:30-5:00pm, with fortnightly RDO)

Part-time hours may be negotiated based on operational need

Salary: commencing at $2752.95 to $3200.67 (Senior) gross per fortnight.
