The City of Whittlesea Public Realm
The City of Whittlesea public realm includes a sprawling open space system of over 2,000 spaces made up of public parks, sporting and conservation reserves, waterways, streetscapes, town centres and Melbourne’s largest portfolio of protected Eucalyptus camuldulensis. The City covers an area of approximately 489km2, located North of Melbourne, a short train trip to the CBD, sharing borders with Darebin, Nillumbik, Hume and Mitchell LGA’. The Urban Growth Boundary separates the well-established and developing suburbs to the south, and rural and designated Green Wedge Land to the north.

The City has a long historical history with the Wurundjeri William people and there is a strong recognition of the Wurundjeri connection to culture, with culture being the interconnection of land, water, vegetation, and fire.

Our staff are passionate, skilled and diverse, providing a great environment to work in and succeed.
