A Social Procurement toolkit is now available for SA Councils.

The South Australian Centre for Economic Studies at the University of Adelaide recently completed a project exploring the potential for using council procurement to generate additional local social benefits in the local community.

The project, funded by the Local Government Research and Development Scheme, has resulted in a Social Procurement Toolkit for the use of South Australian Councils.

The toolkit includes a set of resources for councils. It shows practical examples of methods for identifying social procurement opportunities in council budgets.

It also includes methods for adding social value to procurement opportunities and how to measure the social procurement value in money terms.

More information is available to Local Government Association of South Australia members only, through the LGA Library.
