Senior Financial Analyst

Are you an experienced Financial analyst looking to take your career to the next level? We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior financial analyst to join our client, who are a government body. This is a 12-month contract with a possibility for extension.

The aim of the position is to establish and prepare financial and commercial data analysis and reporting to assess the financial capacity of companies, monitor the performance of existing projects, and to analyse and report on cost and financial data.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting Financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling in addition with strategic decision making
• Analyse and provide advice on financial information, corporate governance and risk management information for companies
• Monitor and analyse financial reports (company balance sheet, cashflow, capital and balance sheet metrics), capital cost estimates and data
• Draft well written, concise and relevant advice to decision-makers
•  Use in-house financial models to assess financial resources
•  Review Governance Reports lodged with the ASX or other relevant foreign bodies and prepare advice for senior management
• Prepare reports and effectively communicate findings

To be successful you will have:

• Suitable technical and accounting / finance degree
• 3-5 years experiences working in a similar position
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience to undertake:
• Data analysis
• Maintain financial models
• A good understanding of corporate structures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical research abilities and presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Government experience is highly desirable
