Commercial Finance Analyst

What you’ll do: 

  • Coordinate month-end processes with accounting and business stakeholders for accurate financial reporting, preparing accruals, invoices, journals, WIP capex, and reports1
  • Analyse financial performance and supporting data to identify trends, explain differences between actual and budgeted / forecasted results, and contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities in achieving financial targets
  • Manage financial forecast and budget processes, including educating stakeholders, data collection, validation, system loading, investigate variances and highlight key assumptions, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide key stakeholders commercial advice on revenue / expenditure contracts and business case submissions and ensure compliance with financial standards, internal policies, and agreements
  • Train and support non-financial stakeholders on commercial and financial concepts, promoting accurate information capture and efficiency improvements 

What we are looking for:  

  • Degree Qualification in Commerce, Business, Economics or similar  
  • CA / CPA Qualification
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI, and TM1
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting, with demonstrated expertise in developing financial models to solve business challenges, identify efficiencies, and opportunities
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building across teams, with a strong attention to detail
  • Favourable: Knowledge and experience of the water sector or another regulatory business would be beneficial
