Salary: From $116,524 base + super
Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent
- A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business
- Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
- A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
- Relevant experience representing business engagement with First Nations People
- Experience working with traditional owners and representatives, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and managing cross cultural issues to deliver intended business outcomes
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, heritage and contemporary issues
- Good written and verbal communication skills and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and projects simultaneously
- Nice to Have: Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in natural resource and / or knowledge of NSW Water Management legislation and operations
- Collaborate with indigenous communities to record traditional water-related practices, knowledge, and stories to Integrate traditional ecological knowledge into modern water resource management practices
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among various stakeholders, including indigenous groups, NSW environmental water manager, government agencies, non-profit organisations, and research institutions
- Organise and participate in workshops, consultations, and meetings to gather input and incorporate diverse perspectives into decision-making processes and facilitate communication and cooperation between indigenous groups, government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders involved in water management
- Support delivering allocated actions within the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and assist the Water Planning and Delivery unit in delivering their actions within the RAP
- Monitor the implementation of Environmental & Cultural Water Management Plans within water planning & delivery seasonal plans and provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders on progress, challenges, and successes related to cultural water initiatives
