Salary Range $112,234 - $125,645 per annum + 10% Super + RDO

The Opportunity

The Coordinator City Strategy will shape the future of one of Melbourne’s major growth areas. The successful candidate will be involved in all facets of strategic planning at a regional and local level. The role will lead the preparation and delivery of strategies, plans and policies to support the growth and development of the City of Melton.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the City Strategy team, providing technical expertise in strategic planning, planning policy, scheme amendments, project management and community engagement and consultation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Victorian Planning Authority and other Council Departments on the preparation of Precinct Structure Plans and Infrastructure Contribution Plans.
  • Manage the preparation of and delivery of a range of strategic planning projects and where required, manage the work undertaken by external consultants.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related discipline with substantial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, preparing project briefs and delivering high quality outputs.
  • High level of motivation with an ability to be pro-active and make a positive contribution to the City Design, Strategy and Environment unit and the wider organisation.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to report on a range of relevant topics in clear, easy to understand language.
  • Highly developed liaison skills and ability to gain co-operation with Council staff, government agencies, consultants, and the community to achieve positive outcomes.
