The Major Events & Festivals (MAJEV) unit is seeking an experienced Project Manager to work closely with the Associate Producer, MAJEV to manage business operations functions and provide project management for strategic project initiatives.
The Major Events & Festivals unit delivers an events portfolio including Art & About Sydney, the Sydney Lunar Festival and Sydney Christmas, NAIDOC in the City, major Capital Works launches, the City's Sydney Mardi Gras Parade entry, as well as the annual Hallmark event - Sydney New Year's Eve.
The primary purpose of this position is managing the business operations function of the MAJEV Technical Production and Operations team as well delivering strategic projects established to deliver against the City's Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision.
Key objectives are to ensure accurate management of production budgets including annual budget bid and regular forecast, workforce strategic planning, team work spaces & asset management and to lead the MAJEV unit's Sustainable Event Management Implementation Plan.
As the ideal candidate, you will:
- Have demonstrated experience managing business operations in the context of major events;
- Possess a high level of project management competencies and demonstrated experience delivering projects within a dynamic and challenging operating environment;
- Possess maturity, discretion, sound judgement and the capacity to act autonomously;
- Have experience working in a positive, flexible manner in a high performing, collaborative, team-based environment.
