The City of Sydney is seeking to appoint two Public Space Liaison Officers (PSLOs) to work in the Homelessness Unit on a full time and part time (four day a week) employment arrangement. The successful applicants must be willing to work in pairs in a seven day rotating roster and be available to work flexible hours including early mornings, and regular weekends.

This role works with a diverse range of stakeholders to reduce homelessness and its impact in Sydney.  PSLOs engage with people occupying public space who are homeless and begging, to link them with pathways to exit homelessness, improve amenity and manage the impact on public space.  

The successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of self-awareness, an ability to negotiate tactfully with a wide range of stakeholders and demonstrated experience engaging with vulnerable people. An understanding of issues relating to homelessness and public space amenity would be an advantage. A full drivers licence and moderate physical fitness are requirements for this role.
