Development Services Compliance and Enforcement Officer

Due to an internal promotion an exciting opportunity exists in a diverse full time role that will join our Development Services department. Your role will take you across a diverse landscape of rural rolling hills, world-renowned environmental reserves and sunny coastal towns to oversee development in key areas such as Agriculture, Tourism, Residential and the Environment.
You will be responsible for:
- encouraging and promoting compliance with the Bass Coast Planning Scheme
- investigating and enforcing planning matters which Council has responsibility for
- conducting site inspections
- mediation and dispute resolution including representing Council at courts, tribunals and forums as required
- monitor land use and development throughout the Shire to ensure compliance with the planning scheme
You will be motivated, enthusiastic and well organised. Your experience will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a capacity to consistently produce high quality work within deadlines.
You have proven customer service and administration skills as well as a willingness to use your initiative while working as part of a team.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills that provide you with the ability to build strong and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have ongoing membership with the Planning Enforcement Officers Association of Victoria.
