As part of the Economic and Place Development Department, this role provides a vital central point of contact for businesses within the municipality to seek varied and specialised advice related to local business. You will provide a personalised consultative support service to new, existing and potential businesses in Stonnington either directly, through front counter, telephone and online enquiries or via any other Council channels or entry points (including business visits) to improve their customer experience. This service provides a central point of contact for businesses during the permit enquiry, application and approvals process.
You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and host initial business meetings to provide preliminary advice, support, applications and advise on permits and related matters. Using a customer centric approach, you will build relationships within Council and host meetings with relevant departments regarding business applications and permits. Your organisational skills will help establish effective processes and systems to monitor and track the progress of applications and also report on the performance of the service.
As part of a positive and supportive team environment, you will also provide assistance with delivering initiatives of the of Economic and Place Development Team. This is a permanent full time position with an annual salary of $79,222 - $90,806 per annum + 11% superannuation + a monthly day off arrangement.
You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building. As a permanent employee you also get access to our wellbeing program, employee assistance counselling program and receive 17.5% additional pay when on annual leave.
Desired Skills and Experience
You will be an excellent communicator who can collaborate, influence and promote, building strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds to support excellent outcomes. Your customer service skills will have you focused on continuous improvement for the customer experience, and your ability to plan and organise your own work means that you can manage the competing requests and demands of the role.
