What is a Senior Strategic Planner for Hume?

Working within the City Strategy team a Senior Strategic Planner leads and supports a diverse range of projects. Along with opportunity to reflect and operate on:

• Developing new policies and planning scheme amendments in urban renewal areas, growth areas and rural areas.
• Assessing and shaping proposals for future of metropolitan and local activity centres, State significant employment areas, new neighbourhoods and established suburbs.
• Inputting to place making, urban design, transport planning and major infrastructure projects.
• Collaborating and negotiating with State Government agencies and developers, and engagement with the community.

The role offers great opportunity to lead your own planning projects and be invited to provide a strategic perspective and support to a range of major infrastructure, place making and urban design projects.

About You

As a Senior Strategic Planner, you will have demonstrated skills and qualifications including but not limited to:

• Tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning or related fields.
• Working knowledge of planning legislation and other related planning land use policies and strategies and their application and delivery.
• Ability to identify optimal solutions to land use planning issues.
• Ability to provide a strategic perspective and an integrated approach to the consideration and assessment of development opportunities and proposals.
