- Based in Heidelberg, Melbourne
- 1.0 FTE, 12-month appointment, immediate start available
About the role:
An excellent opportunity is available for a highly motivated ‘people person’ who thrives on diverse challenges and is a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with a strong understanding of health care data. The opportunity is for the right person to join our outstanding interdisciplinary team in providing leadership for the day-to-day coordination of the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry (AuSCR).
The AuSCR is a collaborative national initiative that is hosted by The Florey, and was established in 2009 as part of a wider agenda to improve care and outcomes for people hospitalised with stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) in Australia. The AuSCR (www.auscr.com.au) is used to collect data on acute care treatments and health outcomes for consecutive admissions of stroke or TIA presenting to participating hospitals. Currently, 62 hospitals from seven different states and territories participate with over 125,000 episodes of care recorded (approximately 20,000 per year since 2018). The information collected in the AuSCR is used to monitor the quality of acute stroke care and promote quality improvement efforts to reduce variation in practice. All patients registered in the AuSCR are contacted by the Florey AuSCR team between 90 to 180 days after stroke/TIA for the collection of patient-reported outcomes. The AuSCR data are collected in the Australian Stroke Data Tool (AuSDaT). The AuSDaT is a national web-tool for stroke data collection used by the AuSCR and the Stroke Foundation for the National Audit program.
This position is based within the Public Health and Health Services Research Group that is headed by Professor Dominique Cadilhac, an international leader in Health Services Research in stroke who is the Data Custodian representative for the AuSCR at the Florey. This group is part of the Neurovascular (Stroke) theme (co directed by Professor Julie Bernhardt and Professor Vincent Thijs) within The Florey, and the AuSCR team is based at the Austin campus in Heidelberg, Victoria.
