Key leadership role to establish a vision for shaping our city’s future
Senior Officer Contract up to five years
Salary commencing from $192,695 Total Employment Package

How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
As the Director City Strategy, you will lead a talented team of people responsible for the development and implementation of innovative processes, policies and strategies that guide the future urban planning and development across our great city. This will include the promotion of urban planning and development that is bold, inspirational and sustainable, and reflective of the ambitions of the Melbourne community as espoused in the current Council Plan.
Through effective collaboration with stakeholders across City of Melbourne, and with State Government and other relevant agencies, you will establish a vision for shaping our city’s future. You will deliver the inspirational and sustainable planning and built form outcomes, including transportation and community infrastructure, that are expected by our community and Council
You will be an exceptional strategic thinker with proven leadership and commercial astuteness with a track record in leading change within a complex, political and high profile organisation. With strong commercial acumen, you will have proven financial, governance, asset and program management experience with a commitment to building a positive organisational culture.
The successful candidate will be a contemporary leader with the ability to drive change from a business and people perspective. With a focus on driving an improvement agenda for the organisation and the City. You will have a track record of developing and meeting strategic, operational and budgetary objectives, coupled with demonstrated leadership in a multi-faceted, complex environment. Excellent communication skills, a capacity to foster sustainable partnerships and a track record of delivering outcomes involving multiple stakeholders are essential.
This position is offered under a Senior Officer Contract up to five years.
