Software solutions company, TechnologyOne, has won the last five major local government software contracts to go to tender in Australia and is attributing its success to the launch of OneCouncil - a new preconfigured, best practice solution for local government.

Two local government authorities in Victoria - Hepburn and Corangimite Shire Councils - have signed up for OneCouncil in the last month while Devonport City Council in Tasmania and Victoria's City of Port Phillip and City of Casey have also become TechnologyOne customers.

OneCouncil is a fully integrated system that covers all council functions, including finance, human resources, payroll, capital works, asset maintenance, fleet management, licences, permits, inspections, rates and customer interaction.

It is one of TechnologyOne's 14 new preconfigured sector-specific solutions, which have been developed over the past year.

Other solutions to be released include OneHousing, OneCommunity, OneHospital, OneUniversity, OnePort, OneWater and OnePower.

Hurstville City Council became the first to purchase OneCouncil last October.

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco,  said people often don't know what is possible, or what other organisations in their sector are doing, the company stepped in to devise a template to show customers what could be achieved with integrated software.

He said the new approach would reduce implementation time, cost of ownership, associated risk, and the complexity of the projects, as well as providing a better experience for customers.
