The National Broadband Network Co (NBN Co) has switched on major services across Tasmania, with eight new NBN Digital Hubs, seven Digital Enterprises, and five Digital Local Government Programs coming online across the State.

"Tasmania is on-track to become the first state to be fully connected to the NBN, giving it an advantage over the rest of the country in realising the NBN's potential," Federal Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy Senator Stephen Conroy said at the launch.

Meanwhile, the servie was switched on at Coffs Harbour, marking the first city in the NSW Mid North Coast to connect to the network.
NBN fibre is now connected to 2600 homes and businesses in West Coffs Harbour, with construction commenced for a further 24,800 scheduled for completion in 2001.

"Coffs Harbour is the third site that can now access the NBN in New South Wales, with the rollout ramping up across the state,” Senator Conroy said.
