Future Proofing Geelong: Sporting Clubs are invited to apply for Energy Assessment Grants

Geelong sporting clubs are invited to apply for a grant to assist with funding for an Energy Assessment Report. Energy Assessment Reports determine current energy use as well as carbon emissions, and make recommendations on how energy use can be reduced for your club. Future Proofing Geelong are funding up to 50% of the cost of these assessments through its Energy Assessment Grants Program for 2014-15.

The grants require energy assessors to be engaged to provide recommendations on how energy use could be reduced at your sporting club, including information on capital costs, payback periods, cost savings and CO2 reductions.

An Energy Assessment Report can then be used to:

  • Inform your club about it’s energy use

  • Decide what actions to take to improve energy efficiency and reduce your bills

  • Apply for funds/grants for capital costs (Future Proofing Geelong can help you write a bid)

  • Measure the outcomes of any actions taken to improve energy efficiency and

  • Inform your club members about energy efficiency actions taken.

Future Proofing Geelong has case studies on their website about actions taken by local clubs and sporting services.
