EV grants still open
The NSW Government is offering funding for councils to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging.
The state has extended the deadline to access funding for the purchase and installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charger. Submissions for EV destination charging grants can now be made up until Friday 11 November 2022.
The number of EV drivers has tripled in the past 12 months alone and this number is growing rapidly.
The NSW Government has also set a 2030 target that over half of all new vehicles bought in NSW every year will be electric vehicles.
Peak body Local Government New South Wales (LGNSW) says councils should take advantage of the funding as a way to attract new visitors.
Guidelines for the grants are accessible in PDF form, here, while applications can be lodged at the state government’s energy saver website.
