Tasmania has a new Minister for Local Government.
The Local Government Association of Tasmania (LGAT) has welcomed the appointment of Nic Street as the Minister for Local Government.
LGAT President, West Tamar Mayor and Vice President of the Australian Local Government
Association Christina Holmdahl congratulated Nic Street on his appointment.
“We are pleased to have Mr Street as Minister with his experience as a councillor at Kingborough Council for close to two terms, and his recognition that local government helps to make people’s lives better,” Mayor Holmdahl said.
“The sector looks forward to working with the new Minister, on the significant Future of Local
Government Review and in promoting the many opportunities for community members if they choose to stand for local government at our elections later this year,” Mayor Holmdahl said.
