The Australian Centre of Excellence for Local Government has announced the appointment of Roberta Ryan as the Centre’s new Director.

 

Mr Ryan will assume the role after Professor Graham Samson announced his retirement for the position in August, her appointment will formally commence later this month.

 

The ACELG board said Ms Ryan was appointed for her extensive expertise in local government, planning, citizen engagement and sustainability.

 

ACELG Chairperson, Margaret Reynolds said, “I am delighted to welcome Roberta to the role. The ACELG Board and I are very much looking forward to working with Roberta on the next phase of ACELG’s work in enhancing professionalism in Australian local government. Roberta’s combined industry and research background will be invaluable to the role of Director.”
