Service Victoria is reportedly building a ‘council in a box’ tool to bring together common local government functions.

The reusable digital tool is intended to allow the state’s 79 local councils to deliver a full spread of digital services and transactions to ratepayers.

Service Victoria is working with a council to co-design and pilot the tool, according to tech news outlet iTnews.

The project is part of Victoria’s regulatory reform initiative, which received $75 million in funding over four years in the recent state budget.
