NSW probes boundary body
New South Wales has launched a review of the Local Government Boundaries Commission.
The Minister for Local Government has commissioned an independent review into the NSW Local Government Boundaries Commission (LGBC), to review its composition, function and processes.
An official discussion paper for the review sets out a range of questions related to who can make a proposal to the LGBC, and what factors should be considered.
Local Government NSW says it will make a submission that advances its position that there should be no forced amalgamation of councils or significant boundary alteration without the support of a plebiscite.
