Pop-ups and Periscopes in ACT's community push
The ACT has launched a pop-up Cabinet program to increase community engagement.
Five Government ministers and their staffers have conducted business in the town of to Woden this week.
With the next ACT election just a year away, there is speculation that Chief Minister Andrew Barr is entering into campaign mode.
The pop-up Cabinet came just days after Government live-streamed a cabinet meeting on Periscope.
Retailers in Woden’s town centre say they have been hit hard by large numbers of public servants moving out of office spaces, leaving several buildings vacant.
They took the opportunity to voice their concerns to ACT Government Ministers in a series of direct face to face meetings.
The brief 15 minute sessions were designed to allow each Minister to have as many conversations as possible during the afternoon.
Today, the Government is hosting a roundtable discussion with community services providers.
Reports say there are plans to take the program to various other community centres.
