Inability to deal with the number of motions put before an NSW Local Government Association (LGA) conference has sparked calls for reform for council quorums.

Over 150 motions did not get put to a vote in the conference, with many of the delegates leaving early.

Faced with over 200 motions, LGA president Keith Rhoades has called for more efficient method for dealing with the quorum was necessary.

"We're in the process of forming one association in New South Wales and a part of the draft constitution is to re-look at the way that we are required at having a quorum,” Mr Rhoades said.
