The Western Australian Government has announced the appointment of the inaugural board of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA), the new body which will be responsible for major redevelopments within the Perth metropolitan area, including the Perth City Link, Perth Waterfront, Riverside and the revitalisation of the Perth Cultural Centre.

“The new authority will increase the potential of the redevelopment authority model by building in flexibility, enabling resources to be deployed to projects as required, and removing duplication of functions,” State Minister for Planning John Day said.

The board will comprise Eric Lumsden (chair); Donald Humphreys (deputy chair); Gary Prattley; Cr Carol Adams; Ms Fiona Kalaf; Charles Johnson; and Dr Fred Affleck.

Mr Day said Mr Lumsden had extensive planning experience with both State and local governments.

“A dedicated planning professional, Mr Lumsden brings exceptional leadership qualities to the board and the knowledge he has gained throughout his career, spanning more than 30 years, will be highly valued,” he said.
