The Western Australian Government has released a new Compliance Framework for the state's councils.

 

Released by the Department of Local Government, the State Government claims the framework will provide the local government sector and the public certainty about how complaints made against the sector (or individuals within it) are managed.

 

All Western Australian local governments will be receiving a copy of the Compliance Framework booklet, which aims to improve the standards of compliance and governance in the local government sector and give transparency on Department of Local Government’s compliance approaches.
