Applications are now being accepted for two vital basin advisory committees.

The positions offer a unique chance to influence water and resource management in Australia's iconic Lake Eyre Basin and the Great Artesian Basin.

The federal government is looking for people with scientific expertise and a profound connection to the Lake Eyre Basin to join the Lake Eyre Basin Scientific Advisory Panel.

This panel plays a pivotal role in providing scientific counsel to the Lake Eyre Basin ministers, guiding the responsible management of water and natural resources.

Expressions of interest are solicited for both panel members and the Chair position.

Ideal candidates should specialise in areas such as hydrology (particularly in relation to Lake Eyre Basin rivers), hydrogeology, freshwater ecology conservation, water quality, environmental planning, and restoration.

Furthermore, candidates with a deep understanding of First Nations' custodianship of Country, their intrinsic water values, and their alignment with current resource management frameworks will be particularly favoured.

No prior experience on a government advisory body is required but is preferred.
