Local Government Client seeking an experienced Town Planner (Development Assessments) for a 3-6 month temporary role. This position is 100% work from home. 
 
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Town Planner (Development Assessments) to join a dynamic and supportive team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and processing development applications, providing expert regulatory advice, and ensuring exceptional customer service to stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in shaping the community by balancing sustainable development with statutory compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of NSW Planning regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
 
Duties

  • Assess and process a range of development applications in accordance with statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders on planning regulations and development matters.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for planning proposals, ensuring compliance with NSW Planning regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to facilitate effective development outcomes.

About you

  • Experienced in a Local Government, NSW Planning environment (essential)
  • PIA recognised qualification
  • Experience in development assessment and statutory planning
  • Understanding of NSW Planning regulations
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively both in writing and in person
  • Coastal, rural and commercial planning experience (highly desirable)
