SunWater is Queensland’s largest bulk water infrastructure developer, owner and manager providing services to government and commercial clients in the mining, energy, urban, and irrigation sectors.  SunWater has an existing network of water infrastructure assets of some $7billion, including 19 major dams, 63 weirs, and 2,500km of pipelines and channel systems.

The purpose of Operations Supervisors role is lead a team of operators to successfully delivery irrigation supplies to a range of customers  within agreed service targets; maintaining asset integrity and customer relations.

Key Accountabilities of the Operations Supervisor position:

• Coordinating the scheduling, releasing, controlling, measuring and monitoring of water Identifying, analysing and resolving operational problems, and reporting as appropriate to the Service Manager
• Supervising and coordinating the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants to meet Australian Drinking Water Standards
• Supervising preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance and renewals work, including weed control in a timely manner to meet agreed customer service standards.
• Ensuring all work is compliant with SunWater’s business management system standards, including quality, WH&S and environmental management requirements
• Effectively supervising the operations team, ensuring high quality work is performed, work method statements are completed, and SLAM requirements, administrative tasks and technical standards are met
• Meters (including external contracts) are installed, read and serviced as per specifications and contracts
• Manage the duty and on-call roster for Operational staff within the Scheme

Essential:

• Certificate III in Water Operations ( or the ability to aquire)
• Class 'C' manual driver's licence
• Must be physically fit to perform the manual task requirements of the position, including the ability to swim, work at heights and in confined spaces
• It is a requirement of the position for the successful applicant to live within 45 minutes travel time of the Clare Service Depot.

Desirable:

• Possession of a relevant trade or business qualification would be highly regarded
