Calling for Hawkesbury Young People to be heard

Hawkesbury City Council is seeking the input of young people from across the Hawkesbury Local Government Area to be involved in the 2015 Youth Summit Planning Group.

Young people aged 12 to 24, who are passionate about sharing their opinions and dreams for the area are invited to help plan the 2015 Hawkesbury Youth Summit. Volunteers will receive great training and be able to hang out with likeminded young people of the Hawkesbury.

The planning group will come together once a month from November to April to help organise the 2015 Hawkesbury Youth Summit.

If you have ideas for the area and would like to be involved in shaping the future of the Hawkesbury by being involved in planning and driving the 2015 Hawkesbury Youth Summit – now is the time to come forward and be heard.

“The Inaugural Hawkesbury Youth Summit was held in 2009 with a second Summit held in 2012. The Summits provide a great avenue to seek and explore the concerns and views of the youth of our area for Council, as well as giving us the opportunity to identify ways in which we can actively involve young people in our decision making process,” said Mayor, Councillor Kim Ford.

“I encourage young people to be involved in this program, it is a great way for young residents to provide input and have a stronger voice in our community,” he added.
