City of Perth enhances Perth Arts by Supporting Arts Activities

The City of Perth encourages artists, arts organisations and community groups to attend an upcoming information session to discover the variety of assistance available and get some tips on how to make it easier to apply.

The grants and sponsorship guidelines have recently changed so anyone interested in applying is encouraged to attend.

The Information Session will be held between 10am and 12.00noon Monday 2 December 2013.

The grants program is divided into two categories, Arts Projects and Creative Community Projects. Arts Projects encourage artists to publicly share, explore and strengthen their practice whereas Creative Community Projects enhance social well being and encourage participation in cultural life.

This program supports a broad range of art forms and cultural practice that are representative of Perth as a creative community.

This program offers two funding rounds of arts and cultural funding.  The next round closes on Monday 10 February 2014 at 5pm and is for projects taking place in the city from July to December 2014.

Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said residents and visitors alike benefit from living and working in culturally rich and diverse city. The Council is keen to do what it can to encourage investment in Perth’s cultural development which strengthens community and improves wellbeing.”

“We have a wealth of skilled artists and creative minds in this city and sometimes all that is required to get a project off the ground is for the Council to provide some financial support. It can even encourage businesses and other supporters to contribute as well.” Ms Scaffidi said.
