City of Perth wins international parking award
City of Perth Parking (CPP) has been awarded the prestigious title of ’Parking Organisation of the Year’ by the International Parking Institute (IPI).
The award recognises the City of Perth for its professionalism and contribution to the parking industry, including its exceptional efforts to integrate technology and enhance sustainability throughout its parking operations.
With an Australian-first mobile parking app, innovative licence plate recognition systems, a range of environmentally friendly initiatives and an active role in the community through sponsorship programs, the City of Perth is an industry leader when it comes to parking.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said CPP aims to be the number one choice for parking in the CBD.
“We are committed to coming up with innovative solutions to improve the parking experience for the community and our consumers,” said Ms Scaffidi
“We want to make it easier for people to access the city while remaining conscious about our environmental footprint. It’s a delicate balance which I believe the City of Perth does extremely well.”
With more than 5000 members, IPI is the leading and largest trade association representing parking professionals and the parking industry in the world.
The Organisation of the Year award was presented to the City of Perth at the 2013 IPI Conference and Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Monday 20 May.
Announcing the award, IPI Executive Director Shawn Conrad said the City of Perth embodies IPI’s industry-wide goals for sustainability and customer service.
“CPP’s dedication to improving the experience of its customers, helping the community, and protecting the planet makes it well-deserving of this high industry honour.” Mr Conrad said.
The Manager of Off-Street Parking Pat Abernethy accepted the award on behalf of the City of Perth.
