Clean up your property for free this weekend
With storm and bushfire seasons just around the corner, Bundaberg Regional Council is holding a free tip weekend to help residents get prepared.
Council’s Waste and Recycling portfolio spokesperson Cr Vince Habermann said residents could take unlimited loads of rubbish to any of Council’s waste facilities for free on October 19 and 20.
“You can bring as many loads of household waste as you like, however there are restrictions on the size of vehicle but as long as it is under 4.5 tonne GVM,” Cr Habermann said.
“As part of Get Ready Week (October 14-20), we’re encouraging residents to prepare their properties to avoid potential disaster.”
He said for safety and traffic management control the Qunaba and Bundaberg Waste Management Facility Shops would be closed, and no mulch sales would be available during the free tip weekend.
The free tip weekend is for domestic waste only and does not include tyres, commercial and industrial waste or loads in vehicles over 4.5 tonne GVM.
Residents are requested to be prepared to separate waste into the following categories and deposit them at the relevant drop-off points: re-usable items, greenwaste, timber, general waste, oils, dangerous goods, batteries, steel, televisions, computer equipment including printers, fridges, freezers and air conditioning units.
