Council encouraging local business to learn about government tendering process
Southern Downs Regional Council is encouraging business owners to attend an upcoming workshop designed to help local business understand government tendering processes and ultimately win more tenders.
SDRC Planning and Development Manager Cecil Barnard said the Queensland Government Tendering for government business workshop is a must for your 2013 diary.
"The Economic Development Unit is working with State Government to run a ‘Tendering for Government Business Workshop’.
"The intent of this workshop is to assist local industry in understanding the government procurement process. We can also help you in developing winning tenders to maximise the chances of gaining new contracts with both local and state government, on major projects or as a supplier to larger contractors.
"Participants will learn the art of developing and submitting tenders including:
- the principles of government procurement policies and processes
- how to interpret and effectively respond to offer and tender documents
- where to look for current and upcoming tendering opportunities
- how to conduct market research to maximise your chances of success.
"The workshop will also include up-to-date information from the Southern Downs Regional Council on procurement arrangements and purchasing opportunities, followed by Question & Answer time," he said.
