Dubbo welcomes commitment to LH Ford Bridge duplication in NSW Budget
Dubbo City Council has welcomed news that $1 million for the planning of the duplication of the LH Ford Bridge in Dubbo was confirmed in the NSW Budget today.
In March 2015 the NSW Government made a $50 million commitment to duplicate the LH Ford Bridge in the current term of Government.
Mayor of Dubbo Councillor Mathew Dickerson said this is great news for Dubbo as it confirms the major construction project to ease congestion for motorists will commence.
“Dubbo’s population is continuing to grow which is positive for the City and brings new opportunities for business growth and development,” Councillor Dickerson said.
“As the City grows new infrastructure is essential.
“The duplication of the LH Ford Bridge will help keep commute times short and create better connections for the Newell Highway which will benefit the whole community.
“Government investment in infrastructure is absolutely critical to Dubbo’s development.”
The Mayor of Dubbo has thanked the NSW Government for the allocation for planning and looks forward to seeing further allocations for the bridge construction.
“I welcome the allocation to this project by the State Government and the continued commitment to funding infrastructure upgrades that benefit Dubbo,” Councillor Dickerson said.
