Total Budget
- $96.2 million capital works program featuring new works, renewals and maintenance
- $364 million operating budget
Community infrastructure
- $7 million to start construction on the $15m Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre
- $6.5 million for the Docklands Library and Community Centre
- $3.6 million for the Docklands Boating Hub and Family Services
- $4 million for the Living Victoria Fund, contributing to the renewal of University Square
- $1 million for the implementation of the Docklands Community and Place Plan
Homelessness, Disability and Aged Care
- $5.15 million includes delivered meals, home and personal care, respite and community transport
- $500,000 to deliver on a Homelessness Strategy
Families, Youth and Children
- $13.8 million including maternal and child health services, immunisations and childcare
Libraries and Community Strengthening
- $11.5 million on Melbourne’s library service, including the new Docklands Library and Community Centre, community engagement and community grants
Arts and Culture
- $14 million to support Melbourne’s arts, including $50,000 for a Music Strategy and $577,000 for the Indigenous Arts Festival
Events, City Promotion and Tourism
- $34.7 million to deliver premier events Moomba, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, New Year’s Eve, Christmas and Melbourne Music Week and support initiatives to increase visitation to Melbourne
Sustainability, Environment and Climate Change
- $1.5 million to plant 3000 trees as part of the City of Melbourne’s Urban Forest Strategy, which aims to double the city’s tree canopy by 2040
- $1.5 million for flood mitigation works across the municipality
- $700,000 to generate a ‘solar map’ to identify buildings across the municipality that are suitable for solar panels and encourage residents and business to embrace renewable energy, and
- $134,000 for a Smart Blocks program to encourage apartment owners and managers to improve the energy efficiency in apartment buildings and save money
Open spaces maintenance and keeping Melbourne Clean
- $104.9 million on maintaining Melbourne’s public spaces, waste collection, recycling, street cleaning and parking meter maintenance
Parks and Gardens
- $7.7 million on parks renewals, including tree planting
