Four new child and family centres

Hundreds of young children have started education programs at three sparkling-new child and family centres throughout the region.

The new centres located in Barwon Heads, Grovedale, and Norlane have all welcomed children with a fourth centre in Leopold to follow in the coming weeks.

The new centres offer integrated services for children and families including childcare, kindergarten, allied health services, maternal and child health services, play groups and family and parenting programs.

The centres are designed to be ‘one-stop-shops’ for families, enabling them to access all the services they need in the one central location.

The new centres:

Bop Bop Karrong Barwon Heads
This sensational looking new early childhood centre in Village Park features a kinder, maternal and child health, family and parenting support, multi-purpose spaces and sports storage.

Grovedale Community Hub
The total redevelopment of the Grovedale Child and Family Centre improves facilities for Grovedale residents and effectively supports people from newborns right through to the elderly.  As well as a revamped neighbourhood house and senior citizens centre, it also offers kinder, maternal and child health, family support, playgroups and occasional care.

Leopold Community Hub
Constructed as part of stage one of the Kensington Road hub – the Leopold Child and Family Centre will provide long day childcare and school holiday programs as well kinder, childcare, maternal and child health, family and parenting support, toy library and space for community meetings.

Childcare services start 10 March but some services will begin operating in the coming weeks.

Norlane Child and Family Centre
New children's services including kinder, maternal and child health, playgroups, family support and occasional care are offered at the new centre in Windsor Park.  The recycled bricks and architectural design creates a distinctive and colourful look.
