Investment flowing into the Wyong CBD
Wyong Shire Council’s investment in revitalising the Wyong CBD is reaping rewards with key residential developments in the pipeline and major Central Coast Mariners expansion just up the road.
Council recently approved a 24 unit building and is currently discussing two further proposals that will yield 185 units – representing $50 million in investment.
Council’s Mayor Doug Eaton OAM said Council had invested substantially in the past year to improve the appeal of the town centre for both commercial and residential developers and investors and the improvements are beginning to pay off.
“We are improving the streetscape and drainage and are currently undertaking a major revamp of Frank Ballance Park,” Mayor Eaton said.
“The Art House – our multimillion dollar performing arts and conference centre is on track to open with a bang at the end of the year.
“These exciting projects are generating a buzz about Wyong with new businesses opening up and now developers breaking down the door to build housing here.
Meanwhile just up the road the Mariners are well underway with stage two of the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence, which is a six floor office building that includes the new Mariners administration offices.
“It is a real stamp of approval for what we are trying to achieve here – we are a Shire on the move and are doing our best to attract development that will deliver more jobs and opportunities for our community,” Mayor Eaton said.
Central Coast Mariners CEO, Mr Shaun Mielekamp, is excited about the opportunity to work closely with Wyong Shire Council and deliver better outcomes for the community.
“It is great to see cranes in the sky, which is a real symbol of progress,” Mr Mielekamp said.
“For us, progress and job creation is a priority for the Mariners and we are genuinely excited about what Council is trying to achieve for the Shire and the Coast.
“We are here to stay and want to grow and extend our fan base and we have big plans to continue to expand our facilities on the Coast.”
