Last chance to nominate for Built Environment Awards


The local community is encouraged to get their nominations in now for the 2015 Built Environment Awards before they close on 16 February 2015. 

Whitehorse Councillor Helen Harris OAM said the awards recognised projects in the City of Whitehorse that displayed environmental sustainability and design excellence. 

“Community members are encouraged to get their nominations in for any high quality, well-designed and environmentally sustainable buildings, landscapes or urban design projects in Whitehorse,” Cr Harris said. 

Any member of the community can submit a nomination. Nominations are open until 16 February 2015. Eligible projects must be completed by 1 February 2015. 

“The Awards encourage excellence in the built environment in a range of scales and project types within Whitehorse, including units and townhouses, apartment buildings, commercial projects, landscape design and heritage projects,” Cr Harris said. 

Categories for the 2015 Built Environment Awards are:

  • Single House Project – New Dwelling
  • Single House Project – Renovated Dwelling
  • Unit and Townhouse Project
  • Apartment Project
  • Commercial or Retail Project
  • Institutional Project
  • Landscape Design Project
  • Heritage Project.

The Built Environment Awards will be presented on 7 May 2015 at award sponsor Deakin University’s Building BC.
