Two Rainbow Beach hotels feature among the best rated in the country

The Gympie region’s coastal tourism destinations have proven winners with online travelers with two Rainbow Beach accommodation providers being rated in Australia’s top ten favourite hotels in the 2015 Australian Reputation Ranking.

Debbies Place in Rainbow Beach rated 94.97, placing fourth in the state and seventh in the country based on more than 200 million traveller ratings on hotel search website trivago.com.au. Plantation Resort at Rainbow placed ninth in Queensland rated at 89.9.

The trivago Reputation Ranking is based on over 200 million aggregated ratings compiled by trivago from over 250 online booking websites. The hotel ranking only contains hotels with over 350 ratings. Ratings data is based on live figures from September 2015.

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Mick Curran says, ‘it’s fantastic to see the success of these Rainbow Beach operators, the rankings are a reflection of user experience and these accommodation providers really personalise their service and that's what people remember in their reviews. That's why they’ve done so well in the rankings.’

Cr. Curran added, ‘Council is committed to developing tourism in the Gympie region. Currently there are over 500 tourism businesses within the Gympie Regional Council boundary generating approximately $140 million in direct economic benefit. The Gympie region is making the transition from an emerging destination to a new tourism region for the drive market from Brisbane and interstate and has been a key partner in an international campaign that has seen an increase in international visitation by 12%. Professional operators like the two who have been ranked so highly are real assets to the region and I congratulate them on their individual success but also their part of a successful region wide tourism marketplace.’
