Whitehorse Manningham Libraries wins Best Annual Report


Whitehorse Manningham Regional Library Corporation has won the award for the ‘Best Library Corporation Annual Report’ at the Municipal Association of Victoria’s (MAV) 2015 Annual Report Awards. 

Whitehorse Councillor Helen Harris OAM said the library team had worked hard on producing an outstanding Annual Report and was well deserving of the MAV award. 

“The quality of Whitehorse Manningham Libraries’ Annual Report and the subsequent award are testimony to the organisation’s passion, pride and professionalism,” Cr Harris said. 

The award was announced at the recent State Council of the MAV on Friday 15 May and presented by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Every year, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, in conjunction with the MAV, award Councils and Library Corporations that excel in annual reporting.  

“This year the Whitehorse Manningham Regional Library Corporation was delighted to receive the 2015 award for the Best Library Corporation Annual Report. This comes on the back of receiving an Honourable Mention in 2014,” Cr Harris said. 

The Annual Reports were assessed on a range of criteria including how clearly they reflected the year’s activities and future directions and how well they communicated essential messages to a range of audiences and stakeholders. 

The Annual Report is a key performance report to the community and identifies the extent to which the library corporation has met its annual goals. Some of the achievements identified in Whitehorse Manningham Libraries’ 2013/14 Annual Report included:

  • 1.3 million people visited our libraries
  • 3.3 million items were loaned
  • 557,538 public internet sessions were booked, an 86% increase on the previous year
  • 67,578 people participated in library programs and activities
  • 30% increase in loans of digital resources and eBooks compared to the previous year
