The South Australian Government has called on South Australians to help identify key areas where Government can make more major cuts to regulatory burden.

State Minister for Small Business, Tom Koutsantonis, said that the Government was looking to capitalise on the $320 million worth of cuts to red tape it has already made.

“After slashing $168 million in the first phase of our red-tape reduction program to surpass our initial $150 million target, the Government has cut a further $150 million,” Mr Koutsantonis said.

“Reducing the regulatory burden for not-for-profit organisations and streamlining the paperwork required in employment and training were two specific areas targeted in the second phase of this initiative.”

“But the Government appreciates there is more work to be done. In the third phase of this program we are calling on South Australians to identify areas where we can further streamline regulatory processes and deliver further savings from reduced red tape.”
