Development Planner

The Urban Planning and Building portfolio aligns urban planning policy with urban planning delivery and incorporates Banyule’s Statutory and Strategic Planning Teams including subdivision and planning enforcement.

In this Permanent Full Time role you will:

  • Assess and advise Council on statutory planning proposals for the development and use of land in Banyule
  • Act as a facilitator to achieve an efficient development approvals process and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Use initiative and judgement in recommending changes to policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well within a team environment, assist and advise staff as directed in their understanding or planning related Reforms, Schemes and Acts.

You will be able to offer us: 

  • Qualifications and experience in a planning role
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in urban planning
  • Customer service, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills including report writing
  • Innovation and ability to deliver service improvement
