Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and is one of the most populous and culturally diverse municipalities. Located in Coburg, Moreland City Council is just 8km from the CBD and offers excellent public transport and cycling access for employees.

We are seeking an experienced Noise Management Officer who will work with the Environmental Health Unit to deliver an innovative response to residential noise issues. 

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Work with other officers within the unit to reduce an existing backlog of residential noise complaints
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement agreed triage and response processes
  • Development of evidence-based background noise limits that will be used to trigger responses from Council
  • Development of standard procedures and guidance material for the Council officers and members of the public, including appropriate website material

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work, within a set timetable and in an environment of change and conflicting demands to achieve specific and set objectives.
  • The ability to gain timely legislative compliance through a range of strategies including education and persuasion.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner with people from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed correspondence and reports with minimal direction from senior officers
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications related to noise management or related field are desirable
