SA's Local Government Association will face a fresh election for its President following the unexpected withdrawal of Whyalla Mayor Jim Pollock for family reasons.
A special meeting of the LGA State Executive Committee will be held on Friday following the LGA Conference and General Meeting. The meeting will consider appointment of an Acting President to take over from Mayor Felicity-ann Lewis whose term ends at the close of the General Meeting.
Mayor Jim Pollock said he regretted having to withdraw after having been elected unopposed earlier this year to take over from Mayor Lewis later this week.
