The Position

The Internal Auditor will play a key role in the planning and delivery of a diverse range of audit programs across Council in consultation with internal stakeholders with the goal of improving Council’s governance, risk management and management controls through the provision of insight and recommendations based on independent, objective analysis and assessment of data and business operations.

Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, audit, investigations, information technology, risk or related disciplines and or professional qualifications as an internal auditor or accountant
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in internal or operational auditing with experience developing and implementing Audit Programs
• Demonstrated project management and relationship building capabilities
• Experience writing detailed correspondence, reports and submissions
• The ability to identify and analyse key issues and make recommendations in accordance with good business practices
• Knowledge of key information systems technology risks and controls and available technology-based audit techniques
• Sound knowledge of statutory requirements of various acts and regulations relevant to the position together with a solid understanding and experience in risk assessment of projects, activities and tasks
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence 

Salary Details

Salary $73,689 (Grade 10) pa + Super.  35 hours per week.
Work life balance allows a 9 day fortnight.
